History: Our JBHS Football Program has been a vital part of the Burbank community ever since John Burroughs became a high school in 1948. Burroughs has produced several All-State and CIF players with alumni who have gone to play at the Division I level as well as compete in the NFL. This year alone finds three Burroughs Varsity players moving on to the Division I colleges. Between 1967 and 1981, our Burroughs Indians were Foothill League Champions eight times. In 1997, Keith Knoop took over as Head Coach and has led Burroughs to four Pacific League titles and 12 Burbank City Championships.
Funding: The J.B. Arrowhead Booster Club was founded in August 1976 and incorporated in February 1978 as a safeguard to ensure that Burroughs High School football would continue to be funded with the anticipated loss of revenue from the passage of Proposition 13. J.B. Arrowhead Booster Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to financially support the Football Program. It is a third party entity separate from the BUSD School District and the classroom/football program. As a non-profit organization, we depend not only on fundraising but also on the contributions from families that voluntarily participate in this program to cover a large portion of related costs. Each practice / scrimmage / game / foot-ball related activity has associated costs that must be paid for in order for our players to fully participate.
The J.B. Arrowhead Booster Club sponsors several events that raise a significant amount of money towards the General Fund of our Football Program.
